Default Date
The month (and sometimes also the exact week or day) within a calendar year, in which a task, such as a maintenance task is scheduled to be implemented, as recorded in a CMMS or other platform.

The default date should be grounded in principles of logistics and scheduling, such as:
  • Seasonal dependency of the task (winter, summer, etc);
  • Relationship of the task to fiscal year end
  • Other
The purpose of the default date is to serve as the baseline clock for triggering alerts to the maintenance team based on reasonable lead times that are necessary to ensure that the work gets done most effectively.

For example:
  • The default date for gutter cleaning is set to October 1 each year.
  • The default date for patio pressure washing is set to the first week of April each year
