Roll-Up (View/Report)
Within a hierarchy of data, this is a means of reporting data where lower level components are aggregated. Roll-ups are helpful to:
  • Summarize large volumes of data
  • Reduce the granularity.
  • To develop statistical analysis and benchmarks
For example:
Key performance indicators (KPIs) are often roll ups of lower level data.
