Projected FCI
This term has two distinct meanings:

1. Project FCI as Forecast of FCI based on Sensitivity Analysis
This is the more appropriate meaning of the word and refers to funding scenarios that anticipate the level of deferred maintenance that was either rise or be discharged over time at different funding levels. Funding sensitivity analysis can be tested in two ways:
  • Linear funding models ("What will the FCI be at fixed annual funding level x?") or
  • Lumpy funding models ("What should our funding be each year to keep our FCI at level x?")

2.  Projected FCI as Extended FCI (EFCI)
The measure of the physical health of a facility, derived from the cost of the concerns and projected concerns for a given facility compared to the total replacement value of the facility.

Projected FCI = (sum of estimated cost of all concerns and projected concerns for a given facility) / (replacement cost of the facility) current dollar costs are used for calculation.
