Long-Range (Needs)
Capital projects, or other types of future events, that appear in the mid to latter phases of the strategic planning horizon.

Depending on the age of the building, these projects occur during the "adulthood" life stage and the "old age" life stage of a building.

Long-term needs are typically projected to be 25 or more years from the current year.

Listed below are some of the key attributes of long-range needs:
  • The mid-range needs have moderate, manageable proximity to the base year.
  • Generally, these items are considered important-but-not-urgent.
  • Linear funding models will generally be sufficient to prepare.
