"Class-A" Estimate

The highest tier estimate in the four-tired class of estimate accuracy.

An estimate based on complete working drawings and specifications. Since the estimator can rely on precise reference documentation to build up the estimate, it is sometimes referred to as a Bottom-Up Estimate.

Class-A estimates have a lower margin of error than Class B estimates.  Budgets for capital Renewal projects should ideally be based on Class-A estimates.
