Capital Consumption Rate (CCR)

The characteristic of an asset to consume capital throughout its lifecycle, typically in the form of major maintenance tasks and eventual renewal at the end of its life. It is based on the individual components, which make up the asset, their theoretical lives and their costs of renewal. The CCR is a physical characteristic of an asset and must be managed in a manner consistent with corporate goals and activities.
